To succeed in de-escalating the conflict in Europe and save many lives in Ukraine, it is essential to view the battles taking place on the Ukrainian battleground from a comprehensive perspective.
We need to adopt a more holistic approach. Now that Ukraine has received security guarantees from many countries, it is time to focus on giving Russia some of the security assurances they desire. This involves expanding the military no-fly zones at the borders, for example, to 100 kilometers, while simultaneously reaching agreements that countries will not deploy large military forces near the borders. Additionally, agreements should be made that, during peacetime, it is not allowed to have significant troop movements and military exercises near the Russian border.
