Ukraine, the spring offensive and the future? A widely used quote is that no one knows the future, such is the situation today for the Ukrainian people and also for the people in Russia who do not participate in the country’s military invasion of Ukraine.
We are above stage 3 of escalating military activities on Ukrainian soil, where the destruction is intensifying. In Scandinavia, we are the only ones who believe that Ukraine has the right to have their borders as they were before 2014, and most countries are also the only ones in this. Both China and India have agreed that a country's borders must be respected.
This conflict and the actions fought in this war are a screw without end, and where it is not expected that Ukraine can win the war with a military offensive.
Most military analysts, military personnel, think tanks and Western politicians expect the war to last for several years.
The situation now is that Ukraine has been supplied with modern anti-aircraft guns, artillery, tanks, long-range missiles and a lot of military vehicles, several drones, personnel carriers and ammunition, airplanes, etc., so that the country is able to defend itself and is well prepared for the spring offensive . Furthermore, it is expected that the country will receive more fighter aircraft in the coming time.
From the Russian side, we don't know much, but we do know that they can upgrade both militarily and in terms of manpower. We also know that the sanctions that have been imposed on the country do not mean that the military does not have the opportunity to get most of the equipment they need for further warfare, we also know that there are many countries, which has normal trade with Russia today. We also know that the country can mobilize even more and increase military production significantly and mon ik, they will also find new procurement channels for weapons and drones so that they can also intensify their military activity in Ukraine. I also think that after the spring offensive in Ukraine, it is conceivable that Russia will start bombing and destroying infrastructure in the country, including the railway network.
Thus, the situation is completely deadlocked, and I do not think that Russia will give up the naval base in Sevastopol. They also want, as a minimum, that Russians living in the Donbass (Donetsk and Luhansk) regions of eastern Ukraine get some rights in terms of language, culture and some form of autonomy within Ukraine's borders.
The world community has no exit strategy
Several countries in the EU and NATO members support Ukraine wholeheartedly and this is also necessary. The big problem is that almost no one is working on peace solutions and on a sustainable strategy for the Ukrainian and Russian people. As it looks now, Russia must get out of Ukraine and the Russian people must be isolated and a new iron curtain must be cut through Europe. The problem is that if you think that it creates peace, stability and progress in Europe and the world as a whole, then you have misunderstood most of it.
Unbelievable shadow play
The Ukrainian and Russian people have suffered unimaginably under Communism and under Nazism ww2. Therefore, it is unimaginable that the will to start a process that can de-escalate the conflict and, based on Scandinavian thinking, build a bridge between the Anglo-Saxon and the French/German thinking, start a work that aims to include people in Europe rather than to exclude people who have a little so much and who want normal relations with other people in Scandinavia and Europe and the world as a whole. To only focus on state leaders and conduct a policy based on this, without thinking about the people who live and work in these 2 countries is completely incomprehensible. Here live around 180 million people who live in modern societies with modern means of communication and who have the same wishes and dreams as us, to isolate 140 million people because you don't like their government must be said to be remarkable, since we in Scandinavia, Germany, France, the USA and most other countries trade with very special oil-producing countries, without the slightest thought of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc.
You have to ask yourself who the hell has given some European leaders and the USA, who shout about humanism, equality, minority rights, etc. right to isolate 140 million people and their businesses. Is Ukraine involved in a shadow game (which they probably don't want), but which aims to weaken Russia's economy in the long term?
We all want peace
I hope for the Ukrainian people that the war will end soon and they will be free from the terrible suffering they have lived under and where thousands have died.
As civilized people, we cannot allow opinion makers, military analysts, military personnel and politicians to be allowed to interpret the text unilaterally - and just as it is a matter of course that the war may last several more years without anyone intervening and trying to resolve the conflict with diplomatic means.
It is not about the Russian leader and the Ukrainian leader having to sit down and agree on a peace solution, as is often simplified. But it is about long-term negotiations to find an exit strategy for both countries. A strategy for the reconstruction of Ukraine must be drawn up, as well as a strategy for future cooperation and trade relations with over 140 million people in Russia.
